We were really excited when Mr Evangelos Mytilinaios, an entrepreneur and winemaker of Samian origin, came to our offices envisioning to bring Samian Wine back to its glory days. When we visited along with Mr Yannis Kostakis, a third generation viticulturist and wine producer, the model, organic and biodynamic vineyards and the winery in Samos, we were convinced that our branding efforts would be worthwhile and the restoration of Samian wine's former glory was not just a dream.

The Greek island of Samos has been famous since antiquity for its top quality sweet Muscat wine. Samian wine used to be one of the most prominent Greek products being exported all over the world but in recent decades it had lost part of its glory. Mytilinaios and Kostakis were determined to reverse that trend. We did what we had to do in order to develop a brand and an identity that would honour their efforts. We dug deep into the history of Mytilinaios family to find out that their predecessors, named Nopera, were merchants of Samian wine in Malta. In the middle of the 19th century the Nopera family left Malta and moved to Samos to produce a high quality, sweet Samian wine of the white muscat variety, so fine that they were able to export to famous customers, such as the Frech company Noilly Pratt of Marseilles, a company still renowned for its exceptional vermouth. No wonder we decided to give the new brand the Nopera name and design a crest for the logo. At the same time we designed the "Muscat at its finest" to be the ideal tagline for a brand that envisions to offer the international winelover with some of the best muscat propositions available. The labels that we designed and the bottles that we chose, create a blend of tradition with modernity and minimalism with vintage elements to reflect the heritage, the premiumness and the finesse of the winery and its products.
